Among a field of 392 anglers our FLW South Africa anglers once again proved that we have some of the best anglers in the world. The results were as follows:

1st place – Costa FLW Series Championship – International division – co-angler – Robbie Olivier
1st place – International Friendship Tournament – Hendrik Brand & Michaela Rickhoff
2nd place – Costa FLW Series Championship – International division – pro-angler – Neels Beneke
3rd place – International Friendship Tournament – Juan du Toit & Vicus Horn
4th place – Costa FLW Series Championship – International division – co-angler – Peet vd Schyff
5th place – Costa FLW Series Championship – International division – pro-angler – Shaun John

How to qualify:

Every month there are Cast-for-Cash bass angling tournaments in six regions. At the end of the season the best of each region compete at the FLW South Africa championship for sponsored slots to the Costa FLW Series Championship in the USA. (You cannot claim to be best if you didn’t prove it.)

Next year, the FLW Series Championship will be held at Lake Cumberland, Kentucky. In addition to the big cash prizes and two boats at stake, we compete against anglers from Canada, China, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Spain and South Korea in the international division for a slot at the Forrest Wood Cup. This is the Olympic Games of bass fishing where every competitor wins at least $10,000!

(Good news; from 2019 the overall winner in the co-angler side will also win a slot in the Forrest Wood Cup.)
